One of the main attractions in Eastlakes is the Lakes Golf Course. The 18-hole golf course has hosted the Australian Open several times throughout its history and is located in the heart of Eastlakes. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy a round of golf and then enjoy a delicious meal and a drink at the clubhouse afterwards. Eastlakes is essentially divided in two by Southern Cross Drive. The residential side of Eastlakes sits on the western side of the motorway, while the golf course is on the eastern side. Shopping in Eastlakes is also convenient, with the Eastlakes Shopping Centre hosting a variety of stores, including Woolworths, Aldi and several specialty shops. The larger Westfield Eastgardens shopping centre is just a 10-minute drive away. Plenty of beautiful beaches are also just a short drive away, including Maroubra Beach and Yarra Bay, perfect for escaping the heat on a hot summer’s day.
